About The Common Ground Review

The Common Ground Review is a documentary journal about Israelis and Palestinians who share one land. It exists to answer a simple need: most coverage of the conflict is either advocacy or news, and a reader who wants the documented record of a campaign, an organisation or a policy often has nowhere quiet to go.

What the journal covers

Three subjects, each held to the same standard. The civic campaigns section documents the advocacy battles that carried the conflict into American transit systems, including the Be On Our Side posters once hosted on this domain. The peacebuilding section profiles the joint organisations still working across the divide. The context section holds the sourced explainers: aid figures, the two-state record, key dates and the Gaza blockade.

How the pieces are written

Every article is third person, sourced and dated. Where the parties to the conflict disagree about a fact, the disagreement is presented rather than settled. The journal campaigns for nothing, sells nothing, and has no affiliation with the organisations it profiles or with the campaign this domain once carried. This domain previously hosted the Be On Our Side campaign website; the current publication documents that history rather than continuing it.
